Kinsley Gets It Right

Responses

  1. As Douglas Adams said (wittily, but it strikes home a bit) in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy:

One of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them: It is a well known fact, that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. Anyone who is capable of getting themselves into a position of power should on no account be allowed to do the job.

  2. Kind of reminds me of Groucho’s line about not wanting to be a part of any club that would have me as a member: talk about two kingdom tension!

  3. And don’t forget the Peter Principle; everbody rises to the level of their incompetence (because as long as they remain competent, they keep getting promoted!)

  4. I liked that article. So true.
